Ms. Swanandee Nulkar is an accomplished environmental researcher and environmental educator specializing in microbial ecology and sustainable environmental solutions. She has a strong background in environmental microbiology with post-graduation in Environmental Science from K. J. Somaiya College (Autonomous), Mumbai. She is a research associate working on electroactive microorganisms for biomethane production at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg. She investigated the effects of heavy metal pollution on microbial communities at the Technical University of Munich and has contributed to research on soil zinc deficiency and plant growth-promoting bacteria in India. With relevant research experience, she has been instrumental for the scientific community, with significant contributions in global research.

Beyond her research, Ms. Swanandee is a passionate science communicator, serving as the co-founder and blog editor of What’s That Green, a platform fostering environmental awareness. Her work has been published in Science ABC and the Marathi Vishwakosh (Encyclopaedia). She is also an experienced educator, having mentored students in microbial ecology and served as a visiting faculty member in environmental science

With extensive experience in global research environments and a keen interest in science outreach, Ms. Swanandee brings valuable insights into international research careers, academic writing, and networking strategies.   • Drafting recommendation letters (and how to request them)

  • Effective cover letter writing for fellowships, research positions, and jobs.

  • Including a realistic timeline

  • Applying for Internships, Master’s and PhD programs abroad.
