Amol Kapoor is currently a portfolio analyst at the Environment Defense India Foundation, deeply engaged in climate policy and communication across India. His journey began with a postgraduate degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), which sparked his passion for climate action. Nationally recognized for his innovative work, Amol's project was ranked in the top 75 for the NITI Aayog’s LiFE initiative, promoting sustainable practices. He has also developed digital tools that have educated over a thousand professionals in the climate sector, aiming to enhance awareness and drive proactive measures. In his previous role at the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence For Sustainable Development, Amol was a vital contributor to key industry reports and the B20 Taskforce. His involvement included engaging in international policy discussions for CII at COP 28, which helped shape India's industry stance on global environmental challenges. Amol is also committed to education and capacity building. He has led sessions at institutions like the TERI Institute and Tata Communication LTD, spreading knowledge and inspiring action against climate change. His speaking engagements, such as the one at the Pradaan-Samagam event, focus on the practical aspects of climate policy. Currently involved with the ORF America U.S.-India Emerging Climate Leaders, Amol contributes to future environmental policies. He is also working on the Climate X AI fellowship with Susmafia, exploring how technology can enhance climate action. Through his diverse roles, Amol aims to make a significant impact on how climate change is addressed in India, encouraging both awareness and action within the professional community and beyond.
