About the Teacher
Environmental Conservationist and Grant Advisor
Speaker description:
Dr. Smitha D Gnanaolivu is a passionate and experienced environmental conservationist with 13 years of experience in environmental conservation, specializing in strategic grant writing and effective proposal development. As a conservationist and skilled grant advisor, Dr. Smitha has secured and managed numerous high-impact projects, including conservation programs, wildlife ecology research, and sustainable development projects at national and international levels.
Dr. Smitha’s has completed her Ph.D. in Advanced Zoology from University of Madras, India. Her extensive experience in managing grants for international projects and partnerships, makes her an invaluable guide in the grant writing process. Her work has not only key conservation goals but also built partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and academic institutions to create sustainable solutions and policies.
Dr. Smitha has expertise in identifying funding sources, structuring persuasive proposals, and aligning project objectives with funding requirements. Her experience as a grant advisor, peer reviewer, and international collaborator enables her to provide practical, real world insights into creating winning research proposals.

Along with this, she has numerous articles and publications on her name. She was instrumental in achieving Several Grant projects including Women Scientist Fellowship, Rapid Action Fund (RAP) by Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), Twice Pollination Seed Grant, Primate Action Fund and many more. She was honored with WeNaturalists People of Nature Awards, 2022. We are delighted to have Dr. Smitha leading this course, guiding participants toward successful grant applications to secure funding for impactful research.
